I enjoy being able to help clients in their journey through life, whether it's working on a mental health issue, self-growth and exploration, parenting, communication problems within a relationship, needing someone to listen and process life's difficulties, or another area. As a counselor I get to be in a unique position where I am able to watch people grow as they make changes in their life. I feel honored to have people trust me to take part in this journey with them, and it's a position that I don't take lightly.
I have been married for 17 years and have 2 children. I earned my master's degree in counseling from CSU, Fullerton and my B.A. in psychology from UC, Santa Barbara. I am licensed in California as a marriage and family therapist (LMFT) as well as a professional clinical counselor (LPCC). I continue to stay up to date on new approaches in treating mental health issues and to receive specialized training at conferences and workshops. I am also a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) and have completed a multi-year 150-hour Specialized Certificate in Play Therapy program at the UC, San Diego Extension Program. Please visit the qualifications page for more details.
Because I feel it's important to use a type of therapy that works best with each individual and some people respond better to one type than to another, I use a variety of approaches. If you're interested, you can read about them by clicking here.
Thank you for taking the time to determine if I will be a good fit in helping you with your journey. It's important that you feel comfortable with your therapist, so that you can make the progress that you are looking for.
